Product Description
Characteristics and Properties
FGB1SA Brushing Gelcoat can be supplied clear or pre-pigmented white.
The FGB15A range of products is formulated for ease of application and to have good costversus performance.
It exhibits effective air release. These products are also low in styrene content.
Gel Time < 15 minutes
(2% medium reactive MEKP @ 25°C)
Application
The isopol.multiline FGB15A Brushing Gelcoat should be ideally conditioned to a temperature between 18-23°C before use.
Workshop & mould temperature should also be in the same temperature range. Gently agitate the gelcoat before use and leave to stand for a short period of time to allow the gelcoat to regain
the thixotropy.
Add 1.5 – 2.5% o fa general purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) to the gelcoat for a sufficient cure.
Care must be taken to avoid incorporating air into the gelcoat when mixing.
Apply the gelcoat evenly across the mould surface with a target film thickness of 500-700 microns.
Always check the wet film thickness and laminate within 24 hours.
Post-curing
For many applications, sufficient post-curing is possible in typical workshop temperatures between 15-25°C.
For optimum gelcoat performance, parts must be fully post-cured prior to being put into service
(24 hours @ 20°C,
followed by 48 hours @ 40°C).
